A presentation of Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol at an economic forum in Japan caught the attention of some netizens Wednesday after an inverted Philippine flag was shown briefly behind the Cabinet official.

Piñol was discussing the strong ties between Japan and the Philippines when a PowerPoint slide with the flags of the two countries and a photo of its two leaders, President Rodrigo Duterte and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, was shown.

The slide was on display for around six minutes before Piñol's staff moved on to the next one.

Netizens quickly caught on and began commenting on the Facebook live feed that the flag was inverted.

"That means war," said a commenter named Marynell Isip Santos.

Another one, Vangie Willis, asked that they correct it.

It is unconfirmed whether the slideshow was made by the Philippine delegation or by the Japanese hosts.

Other netizens, however, remembered how Facebok made the same mistake last June during the country's independence day.
