BULACAN - A former "Oplan Tokhang" surrenderer died while his cohort escaped in a buy-bust operation in Malolos City Friday midnight, bringing the total number of slain suspected drug dealers in the city to three in a span of two days.

Stefan Concilles recently graduated from a drug reformation center, but reportedly went back to his old ways three weeks later that snuffed out his life.

Supt. Heryl Bruno, Malolos City police chief, said gunfire broke out when the police tried to arrest the suspects after a poseur buyer bought a sachet of shabu from them.

The suspects tried to flee Barangay Atlag on board a motorcycle. Police said Concilles fired several times using an improvised shotgun.

Upon reaching Tengco Street, police caught up with Concilles where he was shot and killed. His cohort got away.

Recovered from the crime scene were eight sachets of suspected shabu, three empty shells of 9mm, and an improvised shotgun.

Last Thursday, two surrenderers of Oplan Tokhang were also killed during a one-time, big-time operation conducted by Malolos City policemen.

A certain Eric was killed by police during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pinagbakahan at 4:30 a.m.

In less than an hour, police shot and killed Virgilio Adobas in Menzyland Subdivision in a separate encounter. - with reports from Vivienne Gulla and Kristine Sabillo, ABS-CBN News
