NUEVA VIZCAYA – A lawyer and suspected drug pusher was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Don Mariano Perez, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya early Thursday morning, police said.
The suspect was identified as Christopher Ramel.
According to Chief Superintendent Jenefer Flores, chief of Bayombong PNP, Ramel was asked to surrender several times but refused.
“Nasa PNP, PDEA watch list namin ito sir under category na user. Mula nu'ng August, monitored namin na malakas na siya magbitaw, hindi lang sa Bayombong kundi pati sa karatig bayan.”
(He is in the PNO and PDEA watch list under the user category. This August, we have monitored that his operations have reached neighboring towns.)
Seized from him were nine sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, P1,000 buy-bust money and drug paraphernalia.
Ramel denied the allegations, but admitted that he is using illegal drugs.
“I admit, I’m using drugs, I use it. For me, it’s not sin. It’s not what you put in your mouth that makes you unclean,” he said in an interview following his arrest.
Ramel is under the custody of Bayombong Police Station and is facing raps under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
