DAVAO CITY - Some Davaoenos and employees of the Sangguniang Panlungsod expressed support for Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte by wearing black shirts that had the words "No Way" in front and a dragon figure at the back.
The statement and the dragon were in reference to Duterte's answer when Senator Antonio Trillanes IV asked him to show his dragon tattoo that allegedly proved his links to a drug triad.
"No way," Duterte said during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee's probe into the P6.4 billion illegal drugs that slipped past Customs inspections.
The shirts were designed and printed by one of Duterte's supporters from Manila who refused to be named.
Hundreds of shirts were distributed to some Davaoeños after the president's son said that he is willing to show his tattoo at the right time.
President Rodrigo Duterte, father of the vice-mayor, earlier said two triads based in Hong Kong and Taiwan are among groups behind the proliferation of illegal drugs in the Philippines.
