MANILA - A low pressure area (LPA) or brewing storm was spotted east of Surigao del Sur, the state weather bureau said Friday.
In its 4 p.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol region, Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.
PAGASA said the LPA was spotted 460 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Moderate to occasional heavy rains and strong winds due to thunderstorms are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
Meanwhile, moderate to occasional heavy rains, strong winds and flash floods brought by the southwest monsoon are being experienced in Palawan.
