MANILA - A couple was rescued by residents from their vehicle submerged on a flooded street in Quezon City on Thursday afternoon.

A Bayan Patroller captured the actual rescue.

("This video was captured after a hard rain fell. The Pajero braved the flooded street but the car broke down.")

Ongjoco said when men from the neighborhood saw what happened, they went out and rescued the couple.

(You can see the old couple going out of the vehicle in the video. They were assisted so they can safely go to a nearby house where a rescue team attended to them.)

Heavy rains were reported at around 1:19PM in parts of Metro Manila.

In its 11:00 AM update on Thursday, PAGASA said a low pressure area was spotted at 360 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur.

"This weather disturbance will bring cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains over CARAGA and northern Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides," it said.
