On Heroes Day, Cebu City Police Station 4 in Barangay Mabolo, decided to field out a funeral car as they continue with their campaign against illegal drugs.

A patrol car with a loud speaker accompanied the funeral car as it went around the area, sometimes stopping at crowded places.

Senior Inspector Rolito Supatan called out drug pushers and drug users to surrender or risk experiencing "bad things" in the course of police operations.

Some barangay residents found the activity funny, while others saw it as an old gimmick. It had been done in the towns of Dalaguete and Tabuelan.

Meanwhile, PRO-7 Regional Director, Chief Superintendent Noli Talino confirmed that Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma met with him early Monday and discussed efforts to rehabilitate drug surrenderees.

Palma informed Talino of the Ugnayang Barangay at Simbahan (UBAS), which can be PNP's partner in taking care of surrenderees, who will be placed under a community-based rehabilitation initiated by the church.
