BAGUIO CITY— The Department of Public Works and Highways will close Kennon Road in Tuba, Benguet at 8 p.m., Friday.
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes going to and from Baguio City.
Trekking, hiking and caving in Mt. Pulag and Mt. Purgatory in Benguet, and Sagada, Mt. Province are also suspended, according to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Park Management Office.
Classes from pre-school to high school in Baguio City and Benguet were also suspended Friday morning due to heavy rains.
Jolina is expected to make landfall Friday evening in Aurora, Isabela, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
The tropical storm is expected to bring heavy rains in the Cordillera region.
The region's disaster risk reduction and management council has already raised its status to red alert.
Residents living in flood-prone and landslide prone areas have been reminded to conduct preemptive evacuation.
