The Philippines' top cop Director General Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa on Thursday dodged questions about his possible entry into politics.
Dela Rosa didn't give a direct answer when asked whether he will join politics after his term as chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) ends in five months.
"Mahirap yung mga tanong na ganun kasi alam mo na, very sensitive 'yung ano, lalo na 'yung mga taga-Manila, very sensitive sa politics," he said, adding that he only wants to help rid the country of criminals and drug personalities.
Dela Rosa is scheduled to retire in January 2018.
He earlier said that he will follow whatever President Rodrigo Duterte decides.
"Basta maghintay na lang tayo kung ano ang sasabihin ng Malacañang, yun lang naman ang aking serbisyo, hanggang saan, hanggang kailan...Part and parcel of the job yan, hintayin na lang natin, kung ano. Trabaho lang naman tayo. We are not allowed to insist," he said.
