DUMAGUETE - The Silliman University administration and the Silliman University Faculty Association on Thursday signed a new collective bargaining agreement that guarantees a wage increase and retirement package for the school's employees.
Under the new agreement, regular employees will receive a P500 across the board wage increase, and a retirement pay equivalent to the employee's wage multiplied by the number of months in service.
New regular employees will also be entitled to a P2,100 increase after three years of service.
Both parties resolved their issues after the tripartite industrial peace council in Negros Oriental intervened.
Last month, around 280 members of the Silliman University Faculty Association launched a labor strike to call for higher pay and additional benefits.
