MANILA -- The Archdiocese of Manila will hold a Mass against extra-judicial killings on Monday, when President Rodrigo Duterte delivers his first State of the Nation Address.
Given the rising number of slain drug suspects, the theme of the Mass was anchored on the message, "Huwag kang papatay" (Thou shall not kill).
The Eucharistic celebration, called "Misa para sa mga Kaluluwa at Pamilya ng mga Pinaslang", will start at 5 p.m. at the St. Vincent de Paul Parish Church in Ermita, Manila.
The church is located in San Marcelino Street, beside Adamson University.
The Facebook page "Huwag Kang Papatay" urged Mass attendees to wear black and bring candles.
A short program will be held before the Mass at 4:30 p.m., the page added.
There have been at least 522 drug-related fatalities from May 10 to July 21, 2016.
