One of the suspects in the killing of Bien Unido Mayor Gisela Boniel has denied involvement in the crime.

Alan Delos Reyes Jr., one of the four suspects tagged by the police in the killing of the Bohol town mayor, sought the help of lawyer Innocencio dela Cerna after learning that he was one of 8 people accused of killing the Bohol town mayor.

Dela Cerna said that they will file a counter-affidavit at Lapu-Lapu City Prosecutors Office within 10 days.

According to a police report, Delos Reyes was with the victim's husband, Bohol Provincial Board Member Niño Rey Boniel, and Riolito Boniel when the body of Mayor Boniel was dumped into the waters of Lapu-Lapu City on June 7.

Delos Reyes denied the allegation, saying he had nothing to do with the crime. He said he now fears for his and his family's safety.

He said he was with his family on the day that the mayor was killed.

Delos Reyes is a job order employee in the municipality of Bien Unido, Bohol.
