MANILA - Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde on Thursday ordered the reassignment of top police officials in Metro Manila.
Albayalde said this was part of his thrust to put the right people in the right positions, adding that more reshuffles were in the offing as some of the PNP's top generals were set to retire.
Chief Supt. Gregorio Lim has been designated as acting district director of the Northern Police District (NPD).
NPD District Director Chief Supt. Amando Empiso, meanwhile, will take Lim’s place as deputy chief for operations at the National Capital Region Police Office.
Directorate for Intelligence (DI) deputy chief Alfred Corpus has been designated as acting district director of the Eastern Police District (EPD).
EPD District Director Chief Supt. Reynaldo Biay will replace Corpus at the DI.
Albayalde added that the PNP has also secured approval to add four more 3-star rank officials.
This means the directors of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Civil Security Group, Special Action Force, and NCRPO will become 3-star generals.
All other PNP regional directors will become 2-star generals, as well as heads of some support units.
