MANILA - As the "Little President," Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea must "crack the whip" to resolve supposed infighting among top executive officials, Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon said Wednesday.
Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez has opposed Environment Secretary Gina Lopez suspension of dozens of mines. Cabinet Secretary Jun Evasco and Special Assistant to the President Bong Go meanwhile were said to have differences over the issue of rice importation.
"He should crack the whip, put these Cabinet members where they should be," Drilon said.
The senator added that it "is not good" for President Rodrigo Duterte's top aides to be seen bickering in public.
"They must keep their views, express their views only on internal meetings, not in public. They must avoid these quarrels that we see today," Drilon said.
