An overseas Filipino worker is now incarcerated in Cebu City after stabbing and killing his live-in partner Sunday night.
Victim Yvette Taboada, 41, was found lifeless with a stab wound on the neck.
Police said the suspect, Ricardo Baguio, 43, used a chopping knife to stab the victim inside a rented apartment in Sitio Cogon, Barangay Labangon.
According to the suspect, his live-in partner allegedly kept nagging him while they were watching a movie inside the apartment, causing him to stab the victim.
"She said things [that were] so hurtful already. She even accused me of having an affair with another woman. I really lost my patience and was not able to control my anger too," Baguio said after surrendering to the authorities.
Cebu City Homicide investigator SPO2 Antonio Din said jealousy was the reason for committing the crime.
"He talks very normal, not drunk and so far is not included in the drug watch list," Din said.
Both the victim and the suspect had been living together for three years already, and bear no children.
Baguio was set to fly back to his job as a construction worker in the Middle East next month. The victim works for Cebu City Hall, HR department, according to her ID.
