PULUPANDAN, Negros Occidental - A senior police officer died of head injuries Thursday when a priest's car hit his motorcycle.
SPO2 Graciano Pineda Jr., 55, was traveling south on the Barangay Crossing-Pulupandan highway when a pick-up, at the time driven by Fr. Juancho Omaño, rammed into his motorcycle, S/Insp. Alfred De Leon, chief of Pulupandan Muncipal Police Station, said.
Investigators said the Omaño's car hit the motorcycle while trying to overtake.
Omaño denied the allegations and claimed that he had already overtaken Pineda's motorcycle when it suddenly swerved behind his car.
Omaño was detained at the police station while authorities wait for the victim's family to file formal charges.
