MANILA - Two earthquakes were recorded in Davao Oriental just 5 minutes apart on Thursday afternoon, the Philippine Institute for Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The first quake, at magnitude 4.5, was located 202 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso town in Davao Oriental. It struck at 12:38 pm.
At 12:43 pm, a weaker 2.5-magnitude temblor was monitored 16 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso.
No major damage and aftershocks were expected from the tremors, which were both tectonic in origin.
