PALAWAN - Unidentified gunmen killed the program head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and Rescue 165 inside his home in Barangay Barong-Barong, Brooke's Point Friday night.

The victim was identified as Gilbert Baaco, 44, a government employee.

He served in the Provincial Government for more than a decade.

Based on the initial report of Brookes Point PNP, at around 8pm, the victim together with his wife and 5 year-old son just finished their dinner when 5 unidentified suspects armed with long firearms entered their compound using an improvised ladder made of bamboo.

When his wife Maria Victoria Baaco saw the suspects, she immediately shouted to Gilbert, but the two armed females pointed a gun at her.

The program manager immediately ran to the living room before he was shot.

Maria Victoria said that after the killing, she saw two of the male suspects bringing two firearms that belonged to her husband.

The suspects then left the compound via the back gate.

The victim was brought to Leoncio General Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities recovered from the crime scene 1pc slug of M16 rifle, empty shell of 9mm hand gun and four long magazines of m16 rifle containing 111 pieces of live ammunition.
