MANILA - Former senator and defeated vice-presidential bet Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is dying to go to work after losing the 2016 election, his sister, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, said Monday.
"Bongbong is jobless. He is dying to work. Hindi siya masyadong sanay na walang ginagawa," she said when asked about her brother's possible appointment as interior and local government secretary.
Malacañang had previously dismissed talk that Marcos would be appointed Interior Secretary after Duterte booted out Ismael Sueno.
Marcos, however, said he is open to joining the Duterte Cabinet but said he has not spoken to the President about it.
In the interview, Imee said her brother does not want to jeopardize his protest against the victory of Vice-President Leni Robredo.
"Yun nga tinutukan nya lang yung protest nya. Yun ang bagal bagal nga lang umusad so I think he's looking for a job, he doesn't want to jeopardize his protest, he's very serious," she said.
(He is focusing on that protest that is really slow-moving.)
She also said feels shy to discuss her brother's election protest with President Duterte.
"Nahihiya ako eh," Imee said. -with a report from Vina Araneta, ABS-CBN News
