PALAWAN - A farmer was arrested in El Nido, Palawan for keeping high-powered firearms and ammunition.
The suspect, identified as Teodoro Abrina, 52, was arrested by police on Monday in Barangay Pasadeña.
Abrina's house yielded an M-16 rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun and assorted ammunition.
Abrina was unable to present documents proving that he was allowed to legally own firearms and ammunition.
Police Chief Inspector Lorence Bataller said Abrina had been under surveillance prior to his arrest.
The suspect will be charged with illegal possession of firearms.
