CEBU -- Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña has offered a P100,000 reward for the arrest of the man who shot a male nurse over a traffic altercation.
Both Osmeña and Councilor Dave Tumulak, chairman of the Peace and Order Committee, confirmed that they have already identified the suspect as the son of a businessman.
A video sent by a concerned citizen shows the suspect shooting another man four times in what is believed to be a case of road rage in Barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City early morning Sunday.
The victim in the video was identified by policemen of Cebu City Homicide as Ephraem Nunal Montalbo, 33, a nurse who came from his duty.
In the video, it can be seen that before the shooting incident happened, two drivers were seen first arguing outside their respective vehicles.
Prior to the incident, a woman in a green dress who was with the suspect, was also seen trying to pacify her companion, but to no avail. The driver, who was holding his gun, shot Montalbo.
The suspect then fled away together with the woman in the video, riding their black car.
According to the Cebu City Homicide investigator, SP02 Rommel Bancog, the two were in fighting over a traffic incident.
The suspect was reportedly driving in a zigzag manner on the road causing the victim, whose car was behind the suspect's, to honk his horn loudly. This allegedly caused the suspect to get out from his car.
Montalbo is now in a stable condition. - with reports from Joworski Alipon and Donna Lavares, ABS-CBN News
