MANILA – Senator Panfilo Lacson on Tuesday said his committee will hold a hearing on Monday, March 6, to tackle the confessions of retired police officer Arturo Lascañas, a self-confessed Davao Death Squad (DDS) leader.
Lacson said Lascañas, who tagged President Rodrigo Duterte in DDS killings in a recent press conference at the Senate, will be the main resource person.
Lacson said, aside from Lascañas, former police chiefs of Davao City and representatives from the Commission on Human Rights will be called to the hearing.
“Dalhin nila reports nila sa investigation na ginawa nila sa DDS," Lacson said.
In a stunning recantation of his testimony before a Senate hearing in October last year, Lascañas said several petty criminals, drug users and pushers, and even political opponents and a journalist, were ordered killed by the longtime Davao City mayor.
