Three of the central players of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution had a reunion of sorts during anniversary rites at Camp Aguinaldo Friday morning.
Photos taken by ABS-CBN correspondent Chiara Zambrano showed former president Fidel Ramos, Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile and Sen. Gregorio Honasan attending the Camp Aguinaldo event for the 31st EDSA anniversary.
Ramos, Enrile and Honasan all participated in the EDSA People Power Revolution that toppled the Marcos regime in 1986.
Former Vice-President Jejomar Binay, one of the first officials appointed by the Cory Aquino administration after the EDSA Revolution, was also present for the EDSA anniversary.
EDSA People Power Commission Vice Chairman Joey Concepcion III earlier said Malacañang is spending P1 million for the simple commemoration of the 31st EDSA anniversary.
The traditional “Salubungan”, which highlights the linking up of the military and civilians protesting against Marcos, will not be conducted.
