MANILA- Re-elected Camarines Norte Governor Edgardo Tallado is facing a graft case before the Sandiganbayan for the unlawful removal of a provincial employee.
Also indicted are Sim Mata, provincial legal officer, and Mario dela Cruz, supervising administrative officer.
In the case filed by state prosecutors, Tallado, Mata and Dela Cruz allegedly abused their positions after discharging Provincial Veterinarian Edgardo Gonzales on November 19, 2012.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) had ordered Tallado to reinstate Gonzales, but he refused to follow the CSC and "adamantly ignored" the reinstatement order.
Tallado was involved in a sex scandal in 2014 after videos and photos of him with his alleged mistress were released and circulated on the internet.
In October 2016, the Ombudsman suspended Tallado for 6 months for "Disgraceful and Immoral Conduct" over the widely circulated sex video and photos.
