DAVAO CITY - Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents in Davao City have arrested nine men who are allegedly involved in illegal drugs.

Rico Gallentes, painter and resident of Sta. Cruz, Agdao in Davao City, was arrested in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday evening.

Agents bought from Gallentes a sachet of suspected shabu worth P1,000.

Meanwhile, 8 other suspects were caught in the act of using illegal drugs, PDEA said.

The suspects were identified as Fredirico Gallentes, Agustin Gallentes, Arleto Monterola, Raymond Magdadaro, Bobby Gallentes, Angelo Bantiles, Ariel Timario, Roberto Sagayon and Wildimar Campos, all residents of Sta. Cruz Agdao, Davao City.

Recovered from them were 13 sticks of alleged marijuana, two sachets of alleged shabu, and other sachets with shabu residue and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects denied the allegations against them.

According to PDEA XI Director Adzhar Albani, they conducted surveillance to determine their targets.

Albani said they have to work triple time in order to fill in the gap while the Philippine National Police (PNP) and NBI stopped their illegal drug operations.
