MANILA – A man who allegedly robbed several establishments around Metro Manila was killed in a shootout with policemen in Caloocan City on Friday night.
Police identified the suspect as Ernesto Lozada Cenas Jr., tagged as the man behind the series of robbery incidents involving milk tea and coffee shops. Some of his illegal activities were caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV).
The findings of an initial investigation by the Valenzuela police's anti-criminality team showed that Cenas supposedly preyed on a group of students last week and robbed another establishment in Caloocan on Thursday night.
A police tracker team spotted the suspect along Barangay 160 East Libis in Caloocan. However, when operatives approached him, Cenas drew his gun and fired at the policemen, prompting them to fire back.
The suspect was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival. --DZMM
