LAOAG CITY- A 19-year-old college student was killed in a motorcycle collision in Barangay Bacsil South, Laoag City on Friday.

Lyandro Bartolome suffered severe head injury and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after his motorcycle collided with another motorbike.

The victim's back-rider, identified as Michael Llacuna, and the other driver named Jonathan Raspado, survived despite injuries on different parts of their body.

"Yun motorsiklo ni Raspado going south direction at sa north direction naman yun motorsiklo ng biktima, paakyat kasi yun barangay road, hindi nila nakita ang isa't-isa kaya nagsalpokan, bale face-to-face yun," SPO2 Sean Francis Bugaoisan, chief of the PNP-Traffic Division in Laoag City, said.

The three were all not wearing helmets.

"May helmet na na recover sa motorsiklo ng biktima pero hindi nakasuot sa kanya, hinihintay natin yun resulta ng medico-legal para malaman kung nasa impluwensya sila ng alak,"Bugaoisan said.

Bartolome and Llacuna were reportedly on their way home from a party of a friend.

Bartolome was a 1st year college student taking up BS Hotel and Restaurant Management.
