MANILA - Senator Panfilo Lacson believes it would be better for President Rodrigo Duterte to be multi-dimensional as a leader.

Speaking on ANC's Beyond Politics, Lacson said Duterte should also focus on things other than illegal drugs.

"I think the President should start being, or graduating from a single-dimensional leader to a multi-dimensional leader, kasi ano, parang naka-focus na lang everyday, even in his speeches ano, illegal drugs, illegal drugs, illegal drugs," he said.

"Now, medyo may shift sa anti-corruption efforts, but then, 'yung presidency, very complex, very wide, at saka ang dami talagang dapat tingnan," Lacson added.

He gave Duterte unsolicited advice.

"House cleaning na muna siguro, or simultaneous with anti-crime efforts, tuloy-tuloy pa rin 'yung house cleaning," he said.

Lacson also believes adjusting from being a city mayor to a president may have been difficult for Duterte.

"Kanya kanyang diskarte, and he's really a simple person, and I think the heart is in the proper place, ang naging problema nga lang, siguro, if I may, kasi from mayor, iba talaga 'yung pagiging mayor. Kasi 'pag mayor, hari ka eh. Pagka presidente, hindi ka hari eh kasi ang dami mong pakikitunguhan. Meron kang Kongreso. Pero 'pag mayor, 'yung konseho, hawak mo 'yan eh," he said.

The senator added that Duterte is not as sensitive now as he was during his first few months as president.

"Hindi na napipikon masyado. Unlike before, 'yung first few weeks, first few months, laging may bweltang masakit," Lacson said.
