MANILA, Philippines - A special panel of prosecutors may come up with their resolution on cases to be filed against Aman Futures Group officials in 2 weeks, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said Friday.
This, after the Aman Futures President Fernando Luna, appeared Thursday before the Department of Justice (DOJ) panel and submitted his counter-affidavit.
It marked the closure of the preliminary investigation and all affidavits are now deemed for resolution.
The resolutions may include possible filing of charges or their dismissal against Pagadian City Mayor Samuel Co.
"Deemed for resolution na yan, baka kasama na iyung kay Mayor Co," De Lima said.
Luna, however, can't be a state witness yet, she added.
De Lima said they still have to evaluate the request of Luna to be placed under the government's Witness Protection Program.
"Hindi ganun kadali yun, kung meron talagang threats, pwede naman ibang means of protection like the NBI, pero pending consideration of the request for WPP," she explained.
