MANILA, Philippines – Three Palawan candidates running in the 2013 mid-term elections have withdrawn their respective candidacies, according to the Provincial Commission on Election (Comelec).
Herminio Newang, who is a candidate for board member in the province, withdrew on December 10.
Congressional bets Vicente Austria Sandoval and Clarito Demaala Jr. have also backed out from the race.
Demaala is the incumbent town mayor of Narra.
Comelec called on candidates who have plans to withdraw to do so early, to avoid problems with the printing of ballots. -- Report from Hazel Salas, ABS-CBN News Palawan
