MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck near Masbate Thursday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor, which was tectonic in origin, hit 23 kilometers southeast of Masbate at 9:41 p.m.
Intensity IV was felt in Masbate while Intensity II was felt in Lignon Hill, Legaspi.
Phivolcs does not expect aftershocks.
No damage has been reported, as of posting.
