MAGUINDANAO, Philippines -- The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) is now finalizing its list of nominees for the transition commission that will write the Bangsamoro Basic Law.

Fifteen delegates will be selected to form the transition commission. Eight members will be nominated by the MILF while the other seven members will come from the government's list.

MILF Vice Chairman Ghazali Jaafar said their list is almost complete.

He also said the leadership agreed that the selection process should be a consensus decision.

"Meron ng mga names taken up. Some are already approved maliban sa very few names. Almost complete na 'yung eight nominees pero ifa-finalize pa namin," Jaafar said.

He also stressed that all chosen delegates should be from among the Bangsamoro, as stated in the provisions of the creation of the 15-man commission for the Bangsamoro.

After the list is finalized, the MILF will then submit the nominees to President Benigno Aquino III, who will appoint the 15 members.

Jaafar, meanwhile, lauded Maguindanao Governor Esmael Mangudadatu for recommending three officials from the province.

Mangudadatu endorsed Atty. Suharto Ambolodto, Maguindanao 2nd District Rep. Atty. Simeon Datumanong and former Congressman Atty. Didagen Dilangalen.
