CEBU – The family of suspended Governor Gwendolyn Garcia filed a criminal case against Interior and Local Government Sec. Mar Roxas and several police officials at the Cebu City Prosecutors Office Wednesday afternoon.
Garcia’s son, Paolo, filed a robbery case against Roxas, Police Regional Director Marcelo Garbo, Supt. Leopoldo Cabanag and Insp. Alvino Enguito for stealing the tents and chairs, which were used by the supporters of the suspended governor.
Garcia’s son also accused Roxas of ordering the dismantling of the tents.
Atty. Lito Astillero, the legal counsel of the Garcia family, said they will also file an administrative case against Roxas and the police officials at the Visayas Ombudsman and the National Police Commission on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the group of Insp. Enguito also filed a case of direct assault against Garcia’s son, Joey Cal and Tony Lee at the Cebu City Prosecutors Office.
Enguito was the team leader of policemen who dismantled the tents on Dec. 19. Enguito was allegedly hit in the head after the tents were dismantled.
