MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Calayan, Cagayan at 2:07 a.m., Sunday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The center of the quake was located 42 kilometers southwest of Calayan, with a depth of 16 kms.
The quake was tectonic in origin.
No damages are expected, although Phivolcs warned that aftershocks may occur. -- Report from DZMM
