The act was passed in the Regional Legislative Assembly last December 13, 2012 after months of discussion and public discussion among different sectors in the region.
The ARMM Reproductive Health Care Act will promote the natural family planning method and focuses on strengthening child healthcare facilities.
It also protects the religious belief of people in the ARMM.
Assemblywoman Irene Tillah said the measure will not control the population in the region but is more focused on improving health facilities and educating families, especially women to lessen maternal and infant deaths.
The ARMM government will also strengthen information dissemination on the Reproductive Health Care Act.
