MANILA, Philippines – The chief of police of Roxas Municipal Station in Palawan may face administrative charges after rebels of the New People’s Army (NPA) attacked the station on Wednesday, which resulted to the death of a cop, police said.

Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo, spokesperson of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said the incident could have been prevented because all precincts have a camp defense plan.

Authorities will also investigate why the chief was not in the station during the incident.

SPO3 Ramoncito Rabang was killed in the attack while SPO4 Pablo Acosta Jr. was injured.

Cerbo added that they will investigate allegations by the NPA that they raided the station because some cops extort money from miners in Roxas. -- Report from Edwin Sevidal, dzMM
