MANILA, Philippines – The son of San Rafael, Bulacan Vice Mayor Cipriano Violago, who was shot by unidentified suspects on Friday, is now in stable condition.
Violago said his son, Bulacan board member Mark Cholo Violago, underwent surgery on Saturday after he sustained a gunshot wound in the head.
"Maayos naman po (siya) sabi ng mga doktor. Huwag daw po kaming mag-alala dahil safe naman' yung bata, dahil nabigyan naman na nila ng mga kinakailangang gamot,” Violago told dzMM on Saturday.
Violago’s son remains in the intensive care unit (ICU) of St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City.
He was onboard a Starex van when he was shot by armed men along the Bypass road in the vicinity of Plaridel and Balagtas, Bulacan Friday afternoon.
Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the incident. -- Report from dzMM
