COTABATO CITY, Philippines – A loud explosion rocked a subdivision in Cotabato City around 8:45 p.m. on Saturday.

Police investigation revealed that a hand fragmentation grenade exploded in front of the residence of ARMM Transportation and Communications director Pama Dimapanat, located in Zenaida Subdivision, Barangay Rosary Heights in Cotabato City.

No casualties were reported but the shrapnel caused damage to the concrete wall of the house.

Sheryl Lacoto, a relative of Dimapanat, told ABS-CBN News that prior to the explosion, the director has been receiving death treats in relation to the reforms he implemented in his office.

Last week, men riding a motorcycle threw a stone at their house.

Dimapanat was in Manila attending a seminar at the time of the explosion.

Cotabato City police director Danny Reyes said they have yet to identify the perpetrators and the motive behind the incident. They are currently conducting an in-depth investigation.
