MANILA, Philippines – A 33-year-old relative of Coco Rasuman voluntarily offered to divulge details of Rasuman's alleged investment scam to the Department of Justice (DOJ), and offered to turn state witness in the syndicated estafa case against Rasuman and his cohorts.
Cagayan De Oro City Prosecutor Fidel Macauyag said Rasuman’s relative, who is also an agent of the Rasuman Group, executed an affidavit on Friday with the DOJ's witness protection program (WPP).
He is a businessman based in Metro Manila who admitted to having invested P742 million worth of other people's money to the Rasuman Group.
He is a respondent in one of the complaints filed by investors, thus his intention to turn state witness.
The WPP will evaluate his application.
Macauyag said it is possible he may not be admitted to the program since the DOJ already has vital witnesses against the Rasuman Group.
His possible guilt and involvement in the scam will also be evaluated.
