MANILA, Philippines -- Criminal and administrative charges are awaiting more than a dozen policemen including high ranking officials in Zamboanga del Sur for allegedly not acting on orders by the regional command a few months ago to stop the Aman Futures group from doing business with residents.
Among those who will be subject to summary and criminal proceedings are relieved Provincial Director Senior Supt. William Manzan, and relieved Pagadian Police Chief, Supt. Kenneth Mission.
"Sila ‘yung nagbibigay ng security doon sa Aman Futures,” said Chief Supt. Napoleon Estilles, Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 9 Director.
During a command conference, Estilles revealed that some wanted suspects have private escorts and armed groups protecting them from being arrested.
The regional command also increased the number of checkpoints and police visibility in the province, citing reports that victims of the pyramid scam might commit robberies, killings and kidnappings.
"’Wag po ilagay ang batas sa inyong mga kamay," said Estilles.
The latest incident was the kidnapping of four alleged agents and sub agents of Aman Futures.
They were abducted while on their way to Marawi.
Rumors of killings and robberies are circulating around town.
But those who know about the rumors are not talking to the police because they don't want others to know that they were duped by Aman Futures.
