MANILA, Philippines – Two American soldiers who are part of the “Balikatan” exercises are being accused of beating up a bouncer in one of the bars in Puerto Princesa City.

Complainant Allen John Gapulao, said the two soldiers, identified as Keith Brautigan and Anthony Desalvo, entered the bar drunk and argued with one of the customers.

“Wala nalang paliwanag, naglabas ‘yung 3 tapos sumunod na din ‘yung mga costumer na nakalaban nila. Tapos bumalik din sa loob. Hinugot ng isa ‘yung customer namin, hinarangan ko. Doon na kami nagkagulo,” said Gapulao.

The incident has been reported to military authorities and officials of the Visiting Forces Agreement.

Authorities said investigations are still ongoing.

“Right now, WesCom is carrying out its inquest regarding the incident,” said 2nd Lt. Ann Abrigo, acting spokesperson of the Western Command in Palawan.

The two soldiers are confined in a hospital after also sustaining wounds from the incident. They could not be reached for comment, as of posting. -- Report from Edinel Magtibay, ABS-CBN News Palawan
