6 hurt in car-truck collision in Zamboanga

MANILA, Philippines -- Six people were injured in a collision between a car and a cargo truck along a highway in Zamboanga City on Monday afternoon.

Police said the six victims on board the car were from Barangay Curuan.

Initial investigation showed that the car overturned and slammed into the cargo truck when the car driver lost control while maneuvering a sharp curve along Barangay Lubigan past 4 p.m.

The car driver, identified as Jeffrey Porillo, is in critical condition.

The other victims sustained minor injuries. They were identified as Jayvie Garcia, Aroniza Andog, Irish Andog, Pasil Boyet and Bonifacio Boyet.

The victims were rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment.

Meanwhile, the driver and passengers of the cargo truck were not harmed in the incident.
