Three dead in car crash in Legazpi City

MANILA, Philippines – Three people died while one is in critical condition after their car crashed into a telephone pole in Barangay Rawis, Legazpi City around 11:00 p.m. Saturday night.

Police Supt. Oscar Regala identified the casualties as Voltaire Salcedo, 30; Andrew Salcedo, 18; and Johnny Borromeo, 17.

Nico Paje, 17, is currently being treated at the Bicol Regional Hospital.

According to initial investigations, the four were on their way home from a birthday party at the time of the accident. All four were reportedly intoxicated.

They were riding a Ford Link Sedan with plate number WPY 941. They were reportedly over-speeding, causing the car to lose control and smash into the telephone pole.

The victims were stuck inside the destroyed vehicle for almost two hours before being rushed to the hospital, where three of them were declared dead on arrival. -- Report from Dennis Datu, DZMM.
