MANILA, Philippines -- Fourteen people were injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a trailer truck in Cordon, Isabela before dawn on Friday.
Initial investigation showed that the Florida bus was trying to avoid a motorcycle when it suddenly lost control and crashed into a parked trailer truck along Barangay Laurel past 3 a.m.
SPO4 Bernardino Labog, Cordon Police chief inspector, said, "Sumulpot 'yung motorcycle galing sa may Quirino tapos iniwasan ng Florida (bus) kaya bumangga sa truck na naka-park."
The bus, which had 40 passengers, was from Manila and bound for Gonzaga, Cagayan.
The bus driver and conductor are both in critical condition while twelve passengers sustained injuries.

The victims were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.
The liaison officer of Florida bus, meanwhile, promised to shoulder all the hospital expenses of the victims.
Police said the drivers of the bus and the motorcycle may both face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries with damages to property.
