MANILA, Philippines -- A male Korean was found dead inside his apartment in Cabanatuan City on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The body of 52-year-old Hae Beom Lee, a businessman who is also known as Anthony Sy Uy, was discovered by his friend, Kunsu Lee Lim, inside his apartment in Barangay San Joseph Sur at around 3 p.m.

Investigation showed that Lee's body bore a stab wound in the chest and a plastic cord was found around his neck.

The victim was also handcuffed and his face was covered with packaging tape.

Lee's shirt was used to bind his feet together.

Authorities have yet to the identify the motive for the killing.

But based on the police's initial investigation, robbery could be the motive behind the incident since Lee's cellphone, laptop and wallet were found missing.
Witnesses said a suspicious man was last seen standing outside the victim's house.

Lee's neighbors said they also heard him shouting.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.

They are also trying to contact Lee's relatives in Korea.

Police said it was earlier reported that Lee's sports utility vehicle was found burning inside the Sumacab public cemetery on November 5. -- Report from Cris Zuniga, ABS-CBN News North Central Luzon
