Floods caused by heavy rains have isolated a town in Aurora province, a local official said Wednesday.
Casiguran Councilor Corazon Diaz said all roads leading to Casiguran town were impassable as of Wednesday morning due to floods.
Diaz said at least 10 villages of the town were under knee-deep to waist-deep floods, caused by heavy rains that poured over the province since Tuesday afternoon.
Provincial governor Bella Angara-Castillo, meanwhile, told ANC's Dateline Philippines that they are expecting the floods to subside by the afternoon.
"What we are thankful for is there are no casualties," Castillo said. She, however, said all rice fields in Casiguran have been damaged by the floods.
She said they have yet to come up with the floods' estimated damage on agriculture in the whole province.
Heavy rains struck the province as tropical cyclone Tino weakened and eventually dissipated while approaching northern Luzon.
The storm followed at least three devastating typhoons that hit the country last month. Tino was the 20th storm to enter the country this year.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Luzon and Mindanao will continue to experience scattered rainshowers due to a northeast monsoon affecting the northern and eastern parts of Luzon.
