MANILA – The mayor of Iba, Zambales is now recuperating in an undisclosed hospital after escaping an ambush Saturday evening, an attack that killed two of his companions.
Mayor Danilo Pamoleras suffered a minor injury when unidentified armed men attacked him and his companions around 8 p.m.
One of his companions is in critical condition while two others were declared dead on arrival at the President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital.
A certain Joseph Contreras was injured after sustaining 2 gunshot wounds in his legs.
The victims were reportedly on their way to Pamoleras’ farm in Iba when the incident occurred.
Authorities are conducting a manhunt operation. Investigators are also determining the motive behind the ambush. –With a report from Jeff Gallos, radio dzMM
