More than 4,500 jobseekers from Bacolod City and Negros Occidental were able to apply for local and overseas jobs in the Trabaho Patrol launched by ABS-CBN Bacolod last Saturday at the 3rd floor of Gaisano City Mall.
More than 50 international and local hiring and placement agencies participated in the job fair held from 10 am to 7 pm.
Some of the applicants were former overseas Filipino workers who want to work in another country, while others were looking for positions that pays a much higher salary than their current job.
"This is the biggest job fair ever in Bacolod and Negros Occidental. It just shows how many Filipinos nowadays are desperately in need of a job due to the economic crisis," said Job Villa, Employment Officer 3 of the Department of Labor and Employment in the province.
The Philippine Overseas Employment Agency was also present in the job fair.
