MANILA, Philippines – Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) will hold a summit in Davao City on Sunday to discuss the recently signed framework agreement between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

MNLF Chairman Nur Misuari said an estimated 1 million members are expected to attend the summit.

He reiterated that the Bangsamoro deal is “irrelevant,” adding that Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak should not interfere with the peace talks.

Misuari believes that the prime minister got himself involved in the talks to improve his popularity in Malaysia.

Despite his disagreement, however, Misuari said he is still open to a dialogue with the government to achieve peace in Mindanao. -- Report from Robert Mano, dzMM
