MANILA, Philippines – Iligan City will experience rotating blackouts for two hours starting Monday, October 8.
According to the Iligan Light and Power Inc., the power utility of Iligan City, the blackouts will be scheduled every other day.
The rotating blackouts are due to the increased power supply deficiency in the Mindanao grid, which reached 330 megawatts.
The blackouts will push through even though the city has received additional power allocation from the Treasure Steel Corporation and Mindanao Silicon Metals Corporation.
Meanwhile, fish vendors in Iligan have already expressed concerns over the blackout’s effect on their businesses. -- Report from Ronnie Enderes, ABS-CBN News Iligan
